Research

Our research involves incorporating data with existing knowledge for the purposes of classification and regression, both of which play roles in materials discovery. There are three fundamental aspects to the problem: (1) development of the necessary statistical machinery, (2) transformation of existing knowledge into forms useful for statistical prediction, and (3) optimal experimental design, which is crucial for determining which experiments should be run to maximally minimize the relevant uncertainty in the system.
